Abbot Peter Novecosky is attending the annual plenary meeting of the Canadian bishops at Beaupré, Quebec, Sept. 15 – 19. It is along the St. Lawrence River, near the famous shrine of St. Anne de Beaupré.
Prior to the annual CCCB meeting of bishops, Abbot Peter joined them for the celebration in Quebec City of the 350 anniversary of the founding of Notre-Dame de Québec, the first Catholic parish founded north of the Spanish colonies.
Muenster, SK. — Br. Wolfgang Thiem, the oldest member of our community (90), received a visit from his nephew Giesbert Thiem and his two children from Germany, Aug. 31 – Sept. 3. Joining them for breakfast is Br. Basil Schaan.
St. Peter’s Abbey, Muenster, SK. — The kitchen staff was given the Labour Day holiday off on Sept. 1. Br. Kurt Van Kuren helped to prepare the meals, including pizza for supper.
Saskatoon, SK. — Abbot Peter Novecosky and Fr. Lawrence DeMong participated in the jubilees of profession of two Sisters of Sion in Saskatoon, Aug. 30. Sr. Theresa Horvath (60), left, and Sr. Jocelyn Monette (50).
