Brs. Stephen Predy and Benedict van Ginkel, O.S.B. along with a vocation discerner, Daniel Batushin, stand beside the display they made for Thanksgiving weekend. The banners are a gift from the Ursulines of Bruno community.

 

 

Students, family members, and Sr. Maybelle dela Cruz, M.A.C.E., of St. Augustine’s Parish, Humboldt, SK, joined the community in celebrating Thanksgiving this year.

Muenster, SK — On October 8, the Latin Rite memorial of St. Demetrius, a small gathering took place to celebrate Father Demetrius Wasylyniuk’s 25th Anniversary of Monastic Profession.  Resurrecting an old tradition, Br. Stephen Predy assisted Father Demetrius in distributing the celebratory cake, in much the same way Father Demetrius did when he made his first profession of vows.

For the Birds

Muenster, SK — Br. Wolfgang Thiem checks out his sunflower seed plants in the abbey garden. He harvests the sunflowers in order to feed the chickadees over the winter. But he puts plastic bags over the sunflower heads in fall to protect them from prying birds.

 

Final Year of Seminary

Muenster, SK — Br. Cosmas Epifano left  the abbey Oct. 7 to fly to Rome for his final year of theology studies. He was ordained deacon this summer and plans to be ordained to the priesthood next July.
