The abbots and delegates of the American-Cassinese Congregation gathered at Atchison, Kansas for the June 19-24 General Chapter this summer. Abbot Peter and Br. Benedict attended the meeting. Atchison is the birthplace of Amelia Earhart, the famous woman pilot.
The monks of Saint Peter’s Abbey attended the 100th anniversary Mount Carmel pilgrimage on Sunday, July 17. The day started with beautiful weather but halfway through Mass a rain storm came up and half the congregation left and the Mass was finished after a three-quarter hour wait.
After working a week on the Abbey pipe organ Gerard Demong finally got it working July 15. A short in the wiring kept blowing the fuse.
Fr. Lawrence stands beside the electric car the Abbey purchased on June 17. He is getting ready to make his round trip to the Holdfast area in the Archdiocese of Regina. The car is a 2019 Tesla.
