Our abbey kitchen is undergoing its biggest renovation since 1921. Highlights include: an new floor; new paint; new open shelving; new plumbing and electrical. Cordon Bleu here we come!

Br. Basil and Neil Adam review the first day’s work on renovating the Abbey kitchen
floor. The renovations began on April 11. The floor you see was nailed down in
1921.

Br. Anthony gathers the leftover palms from the Palm Sunday service April 9. The
palms will be burned to provide ashes for next year’s Ash Wednesday.

Brother Basil examines four symbols that were brought to the altar at Saint Peter’s
Abbey on April 2 Solidarity Sunday across Canada.

It includes a pitcher of water representing the water women collect every day in
Africa. A plant representing crops that are destroyed by hydroelectric dams. A
hardhat that represents women who work in construction; and a ballot that represents
the power women have gained in the political arena.
