Remembrance of Deceased Confreres
St. Peter’s Abbey: Between All Souls Day and the first Friday after (a day
of prayer for deceased monks of the abbey), St. Peter’s places the pictures
of their deceased monks in the abbey church. Br. Anthony (left) explains
the custorm to Br. Benedict, a junior monk. November is the traditional
month to pray for the deceased.
Death Notice: Peter Froess (1922-2014)
Middle Lake, SK — Peter Froess (92), a long time friend, worker and Oblate of Saint Peter’s Abbey has recently passed on to his eternal reward. May he rest in peace.
Peter Froess died on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 11:00 a.m in Bethany Home in Middle Lake. He was at the abbey a couple years ago to join in a Christmas party for staff. He often did volunteer work around the abbey after his retirement from his farm some years ago.
