On September 3rd, the feast of St Gregory the Great, Sedney Polinar was formally accepted as a candidate during vespers. The Rite of Initiation into Monastic Life was well attended by the members of the community together with his invited friends and guests of the abbey. Sedney obtained a nursing degree in the Philippines and had previously worked in a continuing care facility in Calgary. Prior to his arrival, Sedney made a few live-in visits to get to know the Benedictine life at St Peter’s Abbey. Please pray for his discernment and for the monastic community.
