During the abbots congress in Rome Sept. 5-16, the abbots had a papal
audience on Sept. 8. Abbot Peter shook the pope’s hand.

Students of St. Therese School, Bruno picked potatoes at St. Peter’s Abbey on a beautiful sunny day.

They were helped by Bernie Karstad of Saskatoon and Neal Adams of Allan (on tractor). Both are Oblates of St. Peter’s Abbey.

Abbot Peter meets with Abbot Gregory Poulin of Conception Abbey who was elected as the new abbot primate in Rome on Sept. 10

The three Benedictine abbots from Canada were together at the Congress in Rome. They are from left Abbot André of Quebec Abbot John of Mission BC and Abbot Peter.

All the abbots at the abbot’s Congress in Rome had a private audience with Pope Francis on Thursday, Sept. 8. There were about 260 people there and after his address the pope shoock hands with everyone.
