Model of Smith barn in Leader

17. It was built in 1914 by Mr. Smith and it was the biggest barn in North America.
It measured 128 x 400 feet and was 60 feet high. It took 32 carloads of lumber to
build and a carload and a half of nails. The barn was dismantled in 1921.

The monks of St. Peter’s Abbey enjoyed a festive dinner on Thanksgiving day. They
were joined by several guests and students
